Gravity: the balloon. The Aeronauts is a very tense and technically brilliant film. Some of the visuals this movie manages to pull off were incredible and the visual effects, stunts, and camera work were so good, I didn't doubt for a second that the characters were in that balloon and one second away from falling to their death. Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones also have a very natural chemistry, and while the scenes that take place outside of the balloon were formulaic, they weren't completely insufferable. As far as historical accuracy goes, if I wanted historical accuracy I would read a Wikipedia article. I watch movies for thrills and entertainment, and this move delivers a lot of thrills.

How many people here are annoyed because history was rewritten? Got some news guys: it wasn't. This is a movie INSPIRED on real events where two guys made contributions to science.
Well, why put a woman there? Just to make it feminist friendly? I don't think so. Science was pretty much limited to men throughout history, so I like the idea of the public being provoked about women's role in science. Worth the debate.
Apart from that, a good movie. If you want to learn more about real events just google it. br> Peace.

Even if have some basic true story in it, the movie try to include multiple expeditions, in the first plan they put the Glaisher expedition slightly modified.
Because the movie is based on amalgam of the flights detailed in the book Falling Upwards: How We Took to the Air (2013 Richard Holmes.
It is a little bit of loss because Henry Coxwell isn't portrayed.
After all is a good movie, don't have any political reasons to put a female actress, Amelia character being a merging between Sophie Blanchard and Margaret Graham in addition to Coxwell. Producer: Maverick should be a 2 star admiral in Top Gun 2 Tom: would an admiral pilot a fighter jet? Producer: No, but how would we explain that to the audience if hes still a captain after thirty years. Tom: one of life mysteries.
